Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, international rugby has had a bigger absence from our televisions longer than usual, along with the late cancellation of the last few games of the 6 nations tournament in March earlier this year for them to take place in late October and Early November. However the industry has been teasing us with the idea of a one off 8 nation tournament!

This tournament is to involve the usual teams of the 6 nations (Scotland, England, Ireland, Wales, Italy and France) with the addition of Fiji and Georgia. The recent World Cup quarter finalists Japan were also invited to take part in the tournament but were pulled out, making room for the much improving Georgia squad to step up to the plate.
At the time of this blog the tournament has already kicked off on the 13th of November with Ireland and Wales (39 - 9) kicking it off and the following games of England vs Georgia (40 - 0) and Scotland vs Italy (28 - 17) being played the following weekend.
The Groups are as follows:
Group A: England, Ireland, Wales and Georgia
Group B: Scotland, Italy, France and Fiji
Following the group stages, those that have finished in the top 2 of their groups will compete as follows: 1st in Group A vs 1st in Group B and 2nd in Group A vs 2nd in Group B.
The 8 nations tournament is set to conclude on the 6th of December. Who will be Autumn nation champions 2020?
